David waller, Keldale's Managing Director

David Waller BSc MBA MBCS CEng CITP

David Waller was active in Cranfield University's Benefits Management research, applying the method in the rollout of BT's intranet, one of the first, largest and most successful corporate intranets. He then took this experience to his customers in finance, utilities and central government.

By extending Benefits Management into thought leadership and business development, David assisted major customers in determining their business needs and managing the necessary business changes for optimum benefits realisation.

He developed Benefits Management as a sales tool to develop new business and improve customer relationships. This proved valuable in winning Local Government partnerships and in BT's successful bids to the NHS.

David was recruited into the NHS to establish a public sector focused benefits management toolset. He created a comprehensive tools, guidance and training package to facilitate the introduction of a Benefits Management strategy and benefits-led business case for NHS Wales Informing Healthcare.

His analysis of the benefits delivered from a £multi-million programme persuaded its Board to invite him to establish a Benefits Management practice in their follow-up programme. The Learning Group he mentors for NHS Yorkshire and the Humber enables him to keep the methodology fresh and at the forefront of service improvement activity in the area.

Outside the Benefits field, he has advised a number of Central Government departments on the introduction of Knowledge Management applications. He participated in think-tank studies on topics such as eGovernment, remote working, public value and national ID cards.
